Alaskan Guide Series Scope

I just picked up an Cabela's Alaskan Guide series scope. It is one of the rangefinding types, and I was just wondering if anyone else had one and how they liked it. It's a 3.5-10 42mm. I'm not a real big fan of all the circles and junk, but haven't got to try it out yet, what do ya'll think about it.

BTW I got an extraordinary deal on the scope, that's why I had to go with the rangefinding

I have not tried them but Cabelas stands behind their products very well so I wouldn't be a bit afraid to try one. I have not heard any bad reports on them. I think that as long as you have time to give it a good try before leaving on a hunt, then you should be fine.

RE: Alaskan Guide Series Scope

I have an Alaskan Guide on my 17HMR and am very happy with it. I tried several scopes in the 150 to 600 dollar range and liked this scope the best. It is the 6.5-20x44 adjustable objective model with mildots. I liked it better than a $600 leupold I tried. I Paid around $400 for mine. I live near a cabela's though, so it made it easier.

I've had a 2x7x32 for 3 years and no trouble with it yet. The scope is mounted on a NEF 450 Marlin and this rifle does have alot of recoil!!!! The scope has good clarity for a cheaper scope. The salesman that sold me the scope said that Cabelas has no problem in waranting the scope. Zeak
