Rem 700 LSS
I found a left handed 700 LSS *NIB* chambered in 300 RUM. I probably don't need but being a lefty pretty hard to just brush off the deal.I looked at one afew years backand felt ok, then the price was 1200 cdn...this one is MUCH less. HoweverI have no real life experience with this model of 700's.
Anybody got one or have anything input on the 700 LSS? Thanks |
RE: Rem 700 LSS
A friends son has exactly the same rifle and in left hand as well. His rifle averages 1" with the 180gr partition. That is about all that I can tell you about it.

RE: Rem 700 LSS
Thanks stubblejumper.
Thought I'd buy a 338wm next for moose and elk but haven't found anythingI like or want to spend in southpaw. Then along comes this Sally!!! How would you compare the 300rum to 338 wm? Main use moose and elk, at this point 300 yards would be considered the furthest shot I'd take in my hunting place. In fact most come 200 or under. Possibly would use for larger bear but really not top on my to do list, but a mild consideration. So really don't think I need a burner in terms of speed. I do have a bummed shoulder which I have worked to regain so recoil is a consideration to an extend. I have shot both no doubt the rum has more health to its boot but all have come in right actions. I think my partners 280 RH kicks more than my 7mm rem mag and he thinks the opposite soI know how fit make a difference in the felt department. Any way your well versed in the rums and rifles in general. What are your thoughts? Stick tothe plan in my head or maybeswitch horses!!! Of course I have not handled the LSS, so won't deciede till that happens but trying to determine if it is worth the drive. (5 hour round trip) |
RE: Rem 700 LSS
I dont have any experience with teh 300 rum. but if it hurts your sholder to shoot you can always get a muzzle break installed to tame it down a bit.

RE: Rem 700 LSS
skeeter.
I have the 338 and the 7mm RUM. I love both of them. My 7mm RUM is the 700 LSS and the 338 RUM is the 700 BDL SS. my 338 has a KDF muzzlebrake on it and the 7 is stock. Both shoot .75 to 1" groups. I dont think you will have any problems with buying the 700 LSS. I have heard alot of good comments aboutthe 300 RUM. Just my 2 cents. hunter338 |
