Taurus M85 Problem

I bought a Taurus M85 .38 spl about a month ago. I've shot roughly 300 rounds through it. Today, while shooting D/A, the cylinder failed to rotate to a new chamber several times and locked in place. You could roll the cylinder backwards to the previous spent chamber and resume firing. It did this with both 130 and 158 gr remingtons. I took the gun to shop and they felt that dirt under the ejector rod was heating up and expanding causing the cylinder lock. Admitedly, those remingtons were dirty as hell but I've cleaned under the ejector rod after each use.

Has any one encountered a problem like this with either a taurus or any other revolver? Does a dirty ejector sound like the culprit? I'm going to shot it again this week and see if the problem is fixed, but I'm afraid it's something mechanical. Taurus has a lifetime warrenty and I'm sure they'll fix it if it is mechanical, but I bought this as a CCDW gun and I'm not sure I want to trust my life to it.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Scott

RE: Taurus M85 Problem

I have never had that problem with a Taurus revolver. I have owned six or eight of them. I have had some S&W revolvers do it after a lot of wear and had to have them retimed. Taurus will stand behind the gun. Its not a common problem as I have fire thousands of rounds through them. I have had three of the 85's.
