Model 70's and 94's
Just wonderin......is anyone buying any Model 70's or 94's, either new or used, due to the Winchester closing? Any speculation as to their future availability or worth? I know, lots of them were made, but you know how people get about these things, particularly when it's hitting close home to us.
I personally picked up a 1975 '94 the other day, just 'cause I was a little nervous about the whole situation. Whatchyall think? |
RE: Model 70's and 94's
I picked up a couple model 94's and a Model 70. I don't expect them to increase much in value for quite a while if ever. Since they are not real winchesters anymore, I don't see them being worth much more that shooters. I think someone will either pick up the remains of Winchester or start making the guns that theres a demaqnd for under another name.

In the last two editions of "Gun List" the prices of Model 70's have ascended. Good luck.

RE: Model 70's and 94's
On one of our local WEB sites, people have been trying to sell Winnies at inflated prices due to the plant closing. I own Winchesters, and love 'em! BUT, personally I feel that only "chumps" will be buying at the inflated prices! They are NOT going to be "collectors items" anytime soon!

Just checked the serial # on my 94. Bought it when I was 14 that was 1964. Still shoots great. Don't shoot it as much as the SKS.

I'm not rushing out to buy them, but also heard they will no longer make the Mod. 1300 shotgun. There's a short article in the April issue of Outdoor Life about this.

RE: Model 70's and 94's
Inflated prices! I went to Cabelas a month ago thinking I would pick up a Model 94 if they had one. Well every Model 94 had a hand written tag on it and the prices were increased $150-$200. Yeah right, I wasn't paying that much.
