Default Encore vs G2

Where you live, what does a new complete gun(Handgun), Go for? I want to purchase eother a G2 or Encore for deer hunting before next fall. Ia considering the 30-30 because it would be less recoil than the 7mm-08 or 308 and the 30-30 with proper loads will handle deer out to 300 yards Max. I would probably not shoot past 200 yards.

I looked at a new G-2 today and I know the gun dealer well. He is a many time ND handgun Silhouette shooting champion. He showed me groups that he had shot (Three Shot) groups at 100 and 200 yards. Groups with a red dot were well under one inch and his open sight groups were about 1 and 1/2 inches. His 200 yard groups were about three inches. These were shot with 150 grain Speer Mag tips and Grand Slams.

He also showed me five of these bullets recovered from deer and Caribou. They were perfectly mushroomed and expanded to at least twice the caliber size. I don't expect to be able to duplicate his shooting but it shows me that the 30-30 with good pointed bullets will do everything I need to do. Has anyone seen this set-up in the Encore or know about what they cost?

Thanks guys. Later this year I will have to have shoulder surgery. Its getting to that I can't hardly get a rifle to my shouder. If I have plenty of time. like in a ground blind, I can get ready and get the shot off. However if the surgery does not do the job then I am going to have to go this handgun route to that I can shoot with my right arm and my left eye. I am down to one good eye and one good arm.

Giving up on hunting is not an option.
