DOES THIS BARREL LOOK BENT TO YOU GUYS?
 

This is a model 742 woodmaster in .308 And its listed as new in the box. Does the barrel look bent to you guys?

I can't be certain, but I think it might just be an optical illusion. I think the barrel looks that way because the barrel is tapered from the reciever (bigger) to the muzzle (smaller). Then because there is a rear sight near the point where the tapering ends, there appears to be a large jump, or "bend", between the front edge and back edge of the sight. i.e....Instead of a smooth flowing line down the barrel, it is broken up at the rear sight which gives the optical illusion that the barrel is bent. That's what I think, but who knows, I very well could be wrong.

I think the bent barrel is an optical illusion as well. It's just how the barrel tapers and you can't see the bottom half.

However, a 742 that's new in the box is really hard to believe. I gotta question that one.

If you decide to purchase this gun make sure you get a 3 day review period top verify that it is, in fact, NIB.

I went to gunsamerica.com and see the gun you are looking at. That gun is probably a new gun being that it is a Canadian centennial gun.

However, you should still have it inspected should you purchase it.

That looks like a bunch of finger prints reflecting in the flash or it could be slight surface rut.

I wouldn't believe that is NIB...and if it is the box was sitting in a horrible spot.


Looks like darkened checkering where hands have been..looks like if that is the factory blueing there's a reason its been left in said box.

Definately work out a review period.
