Default Soothing words for the spouse?

Ok i did something today that i am going to pay for in two ways. i ordered a scope for my model seven ss cause i took the burris FFII off of it and put it on my 700 ss-dm 25-06. and yeah i had an old trashco laying around but i just can't put that on my 308. sooooo i called my distributor ( i buy through my uncles FFL) and just ordered a leupold vxII 3x9x50 matte.
whewwww i hadn't told her yet. but hunting seasons close and all the guns in my arsenal have got to be up to par!
What would you all say? you know to avoid the skillet torpedo!

Ive been in that boat all to many times! But a man has to buy what a man needs right!? My wife isnt all to happy when she &quot;finds&quot; out what I bought! But...she always gets over it with time! Im trying to come up with a way right now to pick up one of Hoyts new 2003 bows, being I just bought a new Hoyt in 2002 this one is going to be a tough one to pull! I always figure a few nights on the sofa is worth a new toy!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Been married 28 years to the same gal and through practice I've learned that a dozen roses or even a small set of &quot;everyday wear&quot; earings given a couple of days before I bring a new toy home (i.e. scope, rifle, fishing rod, etc) has a tremendous equalizing power that can turn the most &quot;penny pinching&quot; spouse into a snuggle bunny.

For true psychological martial warfare, on one occasion I went out and bought a $300 deer stand, let it set in the living room a couple of days, voicing my concerns about it's price, was it too much, not good enough, etc. Third day, I took it back and got a refund...told the wife I took it back and she scolded me for taking it back. When the new Ruger 1-B showed up a few days later...not a peep and snuggle factor remained high.

Bottomline: know the right strokes to make and make smooth plays.

Heaven is best viewed from a deer stand at sunrise in the forest

Soarkrebel, Don't worry about it. I'm sure you've been in the dog house many times before.Roses, going out to dinner or a nice dress seems to work wonders. You can pull anything off if you use a little tack.I look back and realize how lucky I am not having these headaches anymore..Since you'll be in trouble already you might as well buy the Treelounge you've been wanting.Give her really something to complain about, not just little petty stuff. Suggest the negative to positive close. I shouldn't have done this should I? List all the reasons you shouldn't. Then she can't yell them at you. And if you really want to put the cherry on the sundae, put pepper around your eyes first and CRY in her presence &quot;over&quot; it. They can't stand it. Maternal instinct takes over. Honest.

My fiance' handles the finances. I let her do her thing with makeup. You think guns are expensive. I always tell her prior to making large purchases. She supports my hunting habits. She just bought me a Ruger 454 casull.

But rule #1 is, If mommas not happy ain't nobody happy!
