First question is... what's a 45 magnum?

Second question is... if the barrel is smooth how can it be rifled?
Ok, so I'm not the only one with the same questions.
.45 Winchester Magnum!~ A stretched-out .45 ACP. Has been with us for at least 30 years now....
True, but the 45 Win mag is rimless. I guess I should have stated, I have never heard of a 45 rimmed mag. It would have to be rimmed if it fires 410 and 45LC.
Right! The .45 Win. Mag. is rimless, and headspaces on the chamber mouth just like the .45 ACP. I don't know if TC ever made Contender barrels in .45 Win. Mag., but I seem to recall that they did. However, you could not shoot .45 Colt or .410 shells in such a chamber. They did once make a .45 Colt/.410 shotshell barrel, and had a hassle with the BATF over the barrel, the first ones of which had a smooth bore (I think!!).
