I finally bought it

Well went to sportsmans warehouse today and picked up a Tikka T3 lite stainless in .300 WSM. Topped it with aBurris Fullfield II 4.5x14x42mm Scope. Had to put differnt rings on them got some Warnes and the bell is VERY close to the barrel but does not touch. Probably about a half a pennies width between the bell and the barrell will that be a problem?

Well heres a pic

Sounds like a sweet setup. Be sure and give us a range report.

I had a Ruger that the scope was very close (probably about .003") barely could get a dollar under it......it gave me problems when hot. If your guess about distance is right (guessing a half of apenny is probably about .030") you should probably be ok, just remember that incase you get to the range and after a few shots you start losing you zero.

I can fit about 4 peices of paper or about .0165" according to my calipers between the bell and the barrel. Thats at the lowest point theres a little more clearance where the lense is at

Man that sounds like a great set up! I guess I am going to end up getting me a T3. I can't really afford a Sako, and I am a big fan of scandanavian guns. And I have never read a bad review on the T3.
Good luck with yours

I doubt you will have any problems, as i've had them closer that that without any problems at all. Of course i'm talking about a hunting rifle, not a bench rest rifle that sometimes will get very hot..
