If I was you I would get the Zeiss conquest 3x9x40 Its a great scope

I have not tried one yet but according to Winchester, they hit as hard as the 338 with less recoil and shoot as flat as a 270. If this is true, it would be impressive. I would suspect a little hype from Winchester though. I guess that if we need to fill the gap between 300 and 338, this one should do it. However the 8MM Remington Mag although a fine performer, never got off the ground. Its hard to tell if another 8mmwill do better in the market.
