20 ga dilema
well i was talking with the g/f last night and she said she wants to hunt with me this next year so i got to thinking and figured my 12ga is a bit much. shes 5'6 and 104lbs. so i got to thinking bout the old trust 20. i had a real nice mossberg when i was younger with dark walnut stocks and a gold trigger but they since in my opinion have cheapend them up so i was lookin at a rem 870 20ga and she said she like the 870 of the best ive shown her yet but i am probably missing a few makers. she wants a pump so ive checked what came to mind first (remington mossberg winchester H&R) l was thinking bout like benelli and them but she dont want to go that spendy for the first gun so am i missing any moderate priced 20 pumps?

RE: 20 ga dilema
Rem 870 express 20ga is the best one for a new hunter cost is about $250. unless you want to go with a New England 20ga single shot the cost is about $99. Depends on what your hunting. I love my 870 pump. It is smooth, light weight and has hardly no kick. Now another good shotgun is the 28ga. That is what i would like to start my wife on but i dont want to spend another $250 on a shotgun that she will just use for target practice. So I told her that I would start her on my 870. hope I answered you question without over glorifying the 870 too much.

RE: 20 ga dilema
Two options. Look at the youth 870. It may offer a little better fit.
If a full-size gun is ok, look at CZ. They have a semiauto 20ga that is real reasonable. I paid about 275 for mine last year. |
RE: 20 ga dilema
What will she be hunting?
I think that the 870 in 20 gauge is an incredibly sweet gun for small game. 5'6", 104 eh? Does she have a sister?[8D] |
