Tikka T3 stripping

First I'd like to say hi all I've just joined the forum so a big hello to everyone (based in the UK)

Right heres the question I've just bought a Tikka T3 Lite had it out yesterday for a quick blast and when I wanted to clean it I got home and removed the two screws (the once either side of the trigger guard BUT the stock did not want to pull away so apart from those two screw is there another any where to undo??

Lightly tap with a rubber mallet.

Why are you taking your barrel out of the stock?

So after being out in the rain I can get all the water from under the barrel to stop rust, not sure about Michigan but it is quiet wet in winter (and summer!) over here in the UK :-)

Cheers for the info though I might be missing a screw in the butt behind the but plate or something.

Those two screws all you need to take away (and the magazine of course). Then tap or grab the barrel and it will loosen.

I use to hunt where it would drive the rain sideways, sometimes for days on endand i'd be out in it every day for weeks at a time.

Before leaveing home, ialways took the metal out of the stock and cleaned it really well. Then i'd take paste wax (Johnsons paste wax to be exact) and cover the metal with it, it "will" keep the rain and rustaway. Once i gotback home, i'd clean all the wax out and rewax for the next trip.

Istill use Break Free CLP every placethatisn't waxed.
