You are tempting me to turn my 25-06 to the AI version. I am getting 3050 with 100 grain bullets and 2960 with 115 grainers. I guess it does quite well on deer the way it is but it would be an interesting project. Do you use 25-06 brass or 270? I have heard of people using both.

All I have ever used was 25-06 Remington brass. I found some real cheap Remington bullets in bulk, and came up with a fire form load using N110 - only going about 1900 fps, so recoil and barrel wear/tear are minimal. RL22 isTHE powder for this caliber once the cases are fire formed. The new Nosler Accubond shoots around 3/4" and is going 3287. Not too much you couldn't engage with this load. Has enough penetration to go for a shoulder shot on elk. I have also had good luck with the 117 Sierra and 100 gr. Partition. Really don't need a .257 Wby if you have one of these . . .

That is impressive Roskoe...doesnt make a lot of sense to spend that much for Weatherby stuff when you can do that for so much cheaper.

I think its a done deal. That should be a lot cheaper than rebarreling that rifle. I guess with a 270 and a 270 WSM, I don't really need a 6.5-06. But I might still want one.:DOr a 6MM Remington. Or......

Oh I found a deal on a darn Winchester today. Boy am I in hoooootttt water now. I better be good until at least Xmas.;)
