RE: best scope
Man get the burris fullfield 2! I posted the same post about two weeks ago, I could not choose between the bushnell elite or the burris. I actually bought the bushnell, took it back, and purchased the burris 3x9x40 ballistic plex. After I mounted it, it only took a couple clicks till it was on the money. I love the scope. My stevens shoots great.

RE: best scope
Nikon or Leupold :D
I have no experience with Burris, but have never heard anything bad about them. The most expensive Bushnell I ever owned was around 100 dollars and it was the biggest piece I've ever owned. I try to avoid them at all cost. |
RE: best scope
Nikon Buckmasters seriesor Leupold VX IIvote here. I had a Burris Fullfield, but I didn't like the fact that the eye piece turns as you adjust the power setting. I hunt in foul wheather alot and you can't use flip type scope caps on the Burris. Otherwise its a good scope.

RE: best scope
The Leupold rifleman 3-9 by 40mm is just around $200 and comes with a lifetime warranty. have one on my rem 700 bdl in 30-06 and definitely holds it's zero.:D

RE: best scope
Has anyone tried the bass pro "red head scope's"? do they hold any comparison at all?
|
RE: best scope
I would say the nikon buckmaster. Great low light scope for $220.00 .I have one on my 300 win mag and the poi has never change for day one and its been there for 3 years. Good luck.

Burris Fullfield II

RE: best scope
Another vote for the Burris Fullfield II, with a close second the Nikon Buckmasters.

RE: best scope
I own a Burris fullfield 1-4x, 3 leupold VX-II (4x, 1-4x and a 3x9) and a Leupold VX-III 3.5x10-40mm. Only reason I purchased the Burris FF was because it fit my gun/me (eye relief) whereas the leupold's just didn't do the trick. The Burris is acceptable but the VXII areclearer when I look through them. I have also owned a Swarovski 3x9x36american series that I felt was inferior to my leupold VXIII. Now when it comes to bino's there's nothing better than my Swarovski's 8X30 SLC. I bought all these optics back in 1995-1996 when I threw out all my otherscopes that I had owned and haven't purchased any since that time.

RE: best scope
I dont think youll find a vari x II in 3-9x40 for 200$ anymore. Let me know if you do.
You dont need the scope caps if you get the Bushnell with Rainguard. |
RE: best scope
I've owned Leupold and Nikon. Both are great, but bang for buck, I like my Nikons.

RE: best scope
I own a bunch of scopes.....my favorite is a Zeiss conquest 4x14, then the Nikon Buckmaster 3-12X50 tied with the Burris Fullfield 4-14, then the Leupolds (have 4 of them) and finally the Sightron 6X16. We have a 4 point restriction up here in NC Missouri and the Nikons and Zeiss deliver in low light situations. The Burris BP reticle is simply amazing. Itworks well on the '06's, 243's etc. The Zeiss tops them all. Regards, Rick.
