Ruger handgun info needed

I looked on Rugers website already for this info and remain confused.
I thought that both the P94 and KP944 were both chambered in .40S&W.

The D is decock only meaning that the hammer remains cocked and you can fire it either from single action mode (hammer cocked) or decock the hammer manually and fire it from double action which requires you to pull against the mainspring.
DAO is double action only meaning that there is no decock lever or external safety so every time the slide cycles the hammer followes the slide down and you must pull against the mainspring every single time you fire the gun.
