Im not sure about the mk1- but i believe i saw them for the mk2 rugers at midways web site- they may have the mk 1 bases also- you put them on yourself no gunsmithing needed.

Weigand Combat makes a couple mounts for the MK1. One is for guns already drilled and tapped and the other requires you to remove the rear sight to install. Neither require you to go to a gunsmith to mount one.

You can get them from Weigand themselves, Brownells, and Midway USA. In Brownells and Midway it says MK2 but they will also fit the MK1.
