So whats the deal with Colts?

I guess they split up thier divisions a while ago. But it seems so hard to find colts about here. What were they thinking doing away with the anaconda? Looking around for a gold cup and defender. They still advertise them on coltmfg page. Alot of rumors that they are not selling to distributors anymore.

I think they will do pretty good in the playoffs. With home field advantage they will prob go all the way. As long as the death of Dungy's child doesnt mess with their heads too much.

Colt is also making other foolish moves. For example, when the "Assault Weapon" ban expired (I put it in quotes because thelaw didn't actually ban assault weapons, the name wasa scare tactic by anti-gun advocates, but anyways), they were the only AR15 manufacture not to reverttheir AR15's topreban configuration. They were still selling HBARs without the bayonet lugs, flash hiders, collapsible stocks, etc. Colt even had a police configuration AR15 (it wasn't even full auto) that was legal for civilians after the expiration of the ban and they refused to sell it to civilians. It sounds like they're trying to go out of buisness.

I think they have been very busy with government contracts lately and for the most part have ignored the consumer for the last couple of years.

They are also owned by the lefty government of Conn. so its no suprise that they don't feel a need to have offerings to private citizens.

Colt hasn't had a single innovation in almost 50 years, if it weren't for goobermint contracts, they would be long out of business.

Actually, according to Colt's website, Coltsplit into two companies. One controls the military and law enforcements firearms, the other controls civilian sales. So the civilian company would have every incentive to start offering preban accessories on their AR15's, since they're losing a lot of sales to other companies that offer the features. And that isn't my own speculation, I've read several complaints from posts on www.ar15.com where AR15 owners arerefusing to buy Colt HBARs because of the way the company has treated them recently.

http://www.colt.com/
"Colt Defense is a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of small arms and weapons systems for the U.S. Military, its allies and federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Colt's Manufacturing Compnay LLC is a completely separate company that designs, manufactures and sells Colt handguns and Colt Match Target rifles."

This is a prime example of a poorly ran company. There are companies out there without a customer base, without a reputation that sometimes make it big off of well run production, quality and hard work. Here you got a company with a cult following, huge customer base, wonderful reputation, and they have trouble getting the job done. Getting the product to the dealers. Doesn't make sense.
