Thoughts on Remingtons XCR as a LONG RANGE RIG...

I have no experience at all with remingtons, And would really like to hear your thoughts on the XCR, was looking at either a 7mm rem mag or .300winmag, I want to set it up for long-range hunting and was wondering if the .300 is generally a more accurate round then the 7mm? Also your opinion on the rifle itself, I hear all the time that they are very accurate rifles, and was wondering if they will more often then not shoot less then 1in groups out of the box? And if not, what usaully needs to be done to acheve that kind of accuracy...thanks

My experience has been that I have owned several 700s and all would shoot 1" or better with handloads. As far as the 7mmremmag vs 300winmag,both can be equally accurate.
