There would be little difference in the recoil. If you wanted a 24 inch barrel on the 260 then I would rebarrel the ADL. Its hard to find a 24 inch barrel on a 260 since Remington quit the BDL with the 24 inch tube. The ruger comes with a 22 inch barrel. The 260 performs better with a longer barrel but does ok with a 22 inch. Many like short handi rifles. I like long barrel myself. My 6.5x55 has a 24 inch barrel as it started out as a Military with a 29 inch barrel. I have never had a Model Seven but I had several of the Remington 600 series with the vent rib. One in 6MM and two in 308.

One thing to remember about a rebarrel is that you get amuch betterbarrel, so the dollar for dollar compareison doesnt tell the whole story. James you dont happen to have one of those 600 remingtons out there do you? One that could be rebarreled to 7mm08 or 260.

I've been shooting the 117 gr Hornady Custom, for deer in PA. I'm quite happy with my 257. I'm thinking I'll start taking a look at the 110 gr Accubonds.
