Scope Question

I recently mounted a Tasco Pronghorn to my ruger 10/22. This was my first attempt at mounting a scope and I didn't have a bore sighter, but I figured that I would give it a try. Long story short I have been trying to adjust the scope and it shoots about 4" left at 50 yards no matter how much I adjust the windage to the right. Is it possible that I have pegged the windage adjustment out to the right? If so any idea how many turns I should go back to the left to get to a neutral position. I called Tasco to try and get this information, but the person I talked to was unable to help me. I am going to put a bull barrel on the gun and a new synthetic stock after Christmas. Should I just wait, do those things and then take it to a professional and admit defeat?

RE: Scope Question

10/22 great rifle. Sounds like you got the windage maxed out it should come to a stopping point. What kind of rings are you using ? When you tighten the rings down on the scope tighten a little at a time and cross tighten, EX: front left then right rear front right, left rear. I to upgraded mine with a green mountain barrel from Cabelas and a Hougue stock, trigger an recoil buffer and put a simmons 10/22 scope on it, that things a shooter now. Check out rimfirecentral for info on upgrades.
