Default 257 weatherby

I JUST RECIEVED MY NEW VANGUARG STAINLESS 257 WEATHERBY PACKAGE, WHICH COMES WITH A 3-9 BANNER SCOPE ALREADY MOUNTED AND BORE-SITED. A GUN CASE AND RIFLE SLING FOR $700.00. I HEARD STORIES FROM PEOPLE ONLINE THERE NO GOOD, TRIGGER'S BAD ETC. I HAVE TO SAT ITS ALL FALSE, TRIGGERS GREAT, SHOOTS THE 100 GR. HORNADY INTERLOCK SP IN ONE HOLE WITH 3 SHOT GROUP. I COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER PRICE AND PERFORMANCE!

I think you are going to like the rifle - especially in that caliber. See if you can get the new 110 gr. Nosler Accubond to shoot out of that Vanguard. It's performance on game is pretty remarkable. I have seen a couple of elk taken this year with a .25-06 Ackley using that bullet, and it was impressive.

I have taken deer, pronghorn and elk with the 257wby and I do like the cartridge.I do also find the vanguard to be a very well made rifle for the price. My only reservation is the combination of the 257wby and a 24" barrel. The 257wby really needs a 26" barrel to live up to it's potential.

100 fps is about right.HoweverIpersonally couldn't justifychoosing the 257wby over the 25-06 and then giving up a significant part of the ballistic advantageby going with a 24" barrel.

Really! Read both quotes below.

i believe you will only loose 100 fps at most looking at the numbers
100 fps is about right
Does it not appear that we agree on the facts.

However your reaction to my post does make me wonder just how old you are.Judging from your attitude,I am thinking that you are quite young.

The 257wby offers approximately300fps more than the 25-06.100fps is a full 1/3 of that difference.1/3 is significant to most people including myself.I notice that you didn't mention your age butinstead resorted to childish name calling.I guess that does answer my question about your age or at least your maturity level..
