RE: Safety, safety, safety
That guy's foot is history. There is no way to save the foot with that much damage to the bones (especially all of the connective joints in the ankle) and all of the tendons and ligaments, along with the entire arterial structure. I hope that this was one of those uncommon accidents like a branch falling from a tree clocking someone and causing a gun to fire...I would hate to think that this was the result of someone forgetting to put their safety on!

RE: Safety, safety, safety
My room-mate went hunting with his soon to-be brother in law and came back stating "I will never hunt with that guy again!"
2 weeks later his fiances brothers best friend was airlifted out of the woods, he lived but probably still sets off metal detectors at the airport!

RE: Safety, safety, safety
I was shooting clays with a friend of mine a few years ago. On the way to the game lands I listened to him tell how careful he was when shooting and how we would not shoot with some of the others in our circle of friends. Well about an hour later he turned to say something to me and the barrel of the shotgun crossed in front of my face. Needless to say I hit the dirt pretty darn quick. He felt pretty bad. Man not a fun sight looking down the business end of the barrel
