breaking in a rifle
 

got a .243 NEF for varmint hunting an 8-32x40 scope and have probably put less than 100 shots through it. my groups are roughly 2-3" horizontal@ 100 yds. i've noticed the more i shoot the rifle the higher it shoots. no i'm not letting the barrel cool - i just love the rifle.

so how manyrounds do you put in a gun beforeitsconsidered sighted in?

You are sighted in now. Groups stringing vertically is common on many rifles. It usually means you have upward pressure against the barrel and it starts affecting the groupsas the barrel warms up. It will continue to do that til you find whatever is causing the pressure and relieve it. That's why many bolt actions have "floating" barrels. You may have to sand some wood away from your forearm
