Vari-X lll 3.5x10 vs Zeiss Conquest 3.5x10
 

Both scopes are in the same price range. Does one have any advantages over the other.

The conquest has better quality lenses and coatings but they are both fine scopes.You can't go wrong with either but I would choose the conquest.

I'd personally pick the leupold because I feel the overall quality of the construction is superior to the zeiss. In the conquest line Zeiss cut corners to bring it in on budget with things like using plastic adjustment cover caps. I know that's not likely to matter much in practice but my underlying suspicion is that if they'll cut costs with something as cheap as a 50 cent adjustment cover then they'll use lesser quality parts in other areas to save a few cents.

I owne Leupold's but my next &quot;QUALITY&quot; scope will be a Zeiss! My friend has one and the optics seem execelent...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
