Rem 700 CDL or Savage 111g?

I am looking into buying a .270 cal, either a Savage 111g for $415 or a Rem 700 CDL for $565. I am willing to pay the extra $150 if the Remington is worth it. If not, I will go with the Savage. Just checking around for inputs.

I have the CDL in 30-06 and I love it, but I don't know if it is worth the extra dollars over the Savage.

The Remington hands down. Also has a better resale value.

You want the best accuracy for your money, or do you want a name from a company whose quality control has been on a downhill slide over the past few years?

I have had a lot of guns over the years, Winchesters, Remingtons, Savages.........

After all this time, I have killed more deer with the savages. I still have the others, but It isn't the fit and finish that gets the job done, OR the resale value.

You can always do a couple little things that will make the remington shoot much better, even though the savage may shoot a little better right from the box. But it's hit or miss from the box, because you could get a good remington or bad savage, or visa versa.

In every poll that I have seen on different hunting forums on the internet, when one asks which scope?? which gun??? Leupold and Remington Model 700 win...hands down...Others will tell you why you should buy their favorite but these two brands are what are being used by most....

Well you can take your chances and buy a savage[:o] Or you can buy one of the most trusted guns in America:D

I've owned both and Big Green has not let me down yet!!!!
