I agree... a 240 hard cast or jacketed flat point if you buy ammo...
300 gr XTP or flat point if you handload

I have taken quite a few big game animals with the 44 Mag. I lean the other way. I like the 300 grain Hornady XTP. This one is factory loaded by Hornady and maybe others as well. I am not concerned about flat shooting with a Revolver as it is a short range weapon anyway. I like good penetration and a big hole.
Agreed.I think the 300 gr. Hornadys are just the ticket. :D

Remington makes a 275 grain Core-Lokt round in the .44 Magnum. I think that it would serve your purposes very well out to 100 yards, if you can shoot that far.

My gun prefers heavier bullets, so I use nothing under 240's.

i don't know about with a handgun but i shoot 240 winchesters in my 94 carbine. they work well.
