.35 Whelen

Does anyone know what factory rifles are currently available in .35 Whelen. I have been doing some research looking at the manufacturers' websites, but I know that I always miss some. Thanks.

I believe that the marlin 336 lever actions are...and probably the Winchester 94s, I could be wrong though

I think Ruger might be chambering it in the M77 and every now and then a limited run of remington 7600 also hits the market. I would contact Ruger and Remington. If you can't find one you might want to look at the .350 mag guide gun. Its pretty well the same velocities anyway.

I don't believe Marlin or Winchester ever chambered the 35 Whelen in their 94 or 36 It would take a longer action as it is uses the 30-06 casing. I believe you can get a Encore barrel. Not long ago I thin Weatherby was chambering it. Someone here may know of some other options. I once just rebarreled a LH 30-06 BDL to 35 Whelen. I think you can buy a Whelen barrel for the Savage rifles as well. Try Midway USA. Last year Grice Gun shop had a limited run of 7600 Remingtons in that caliber. They may have one left of maybe a used one. Its a fine caliber and can harvest a lot of the same game as the bigger magnum rifles. With a lot less recoil I might add.

Remington CDL and the pump rifle are the only current factory rifles in that caliber. I just had a whelen build off an older winchester action by ERShaw for my father that turned out really good, they did the barreling and finishing I did all the wood. Ended up costing me about 400 bucks not counting the action.

I had E.R. Shaw rebarrel many rifles for me while I was a dealer. They always did great work.

Just picked up a Remington CDL in 35 whelen. I had a choice of the CDL or a 7600. Couldn't find any other makes in this caliber.
If you don't reload their are only 3 choices of ammo that I can find. 1 from Federal and 2 from Remington.
I thoought about buying a long action Savage and getting a whelen barrel from Midway, would have two calibers for less than the CDL.
But after handling the Remington I had to have it.

I have a few more questions.

If I wanted to have a rifle built in 35 Whelen, could I use any rifle that was chambered for 30-06, and then just change the barrel?

Would the 35 Whelen cartridges fit in the 30-06 magazine?

Would I have the same magazine capacity?
