Rate the Mossberg 535
Im about to purchase the Mossberg 535 tukey/deer combo in mossy oak (I think)
It comes with fiber optic sights and turkey choke barell and a rifled slug barell with open sights. I am about to pay nearly $400.00 for it. Is this a good deal for a new gun or should I shop around some more. I also found a black synthetic Remington 870 with a turkey set up (sights and choke) for 189.00 Give me advice please. |

RE: Rate the Mossberg 535
The Mossberg seems a little overpriced...but I'd take it over the Remington any day.I've been shooting the 935 and it has been a great bird gun. Mossberg stands behind it's products.....Remington in the last 10+ years has been leaving alot to be desired.

Mossberg pump, single slide, Remington pump, double slides. Get the 870, they are indestructable. Get an extra barrel for it on Ebay for $100 bucks.

The remington is used and has some surface rust, but I bet a good cleaning would take it all off. How is Remington is not backing their products as well???

RE: Rate the Mossberg 535
The Remington's have been leaving the factory with un-finnished barrels and chambers. Way to many guns needing the chambers and forcing cone buffed up for proper function. Sticking empties has been a major problem...poor patterns are another. When I buy a gun, I shouldn't have to finnish it off...the factory should be doing that for me. At least the Mossbergs come ready to hunt
