my winchester mod. 70

Hey ya'll, I bought a model 70 probably about 5 years ago from wal-mart and after looking at the Mod. 70s that are sold today they all of floor plates in them, which mine does not. (mine is a synthetic stocked and blued 30-06). I was just wondering if anyone knew what particular model of the 70 I might have and if not having the floor plate was common on 70's when I would have bought mine. I was just wondering this incase I decided that I wanted to put a new stock on it down the road and if it would be possible to install a floor plate magazine, of if i'd have to find a stock without one. Thanks for any help

I had a model 70 from Wal mart also that had a blind magazine.I'm pretty sure that Wal-Mart had stocks made by Butler Creek for barreled actions purchased from Winchester.I eventually bought a Bell and Carlsonstock for it. You will however have to buy a floor plate and a new triggergaurd. You can getall the parts you need from Midway USA or buy the triggergaurd and floorplate from Winchester. You might even find the parts through ebay.
