Why do I want a new rifle?
 

I already have a .30-06 and I really don't need a new rifle but I keep on looking for something like either a 30-30, .270 wsm, or 7mm08. I don't know why but it seems like every year about this time I'm ready forsomething new to hunt and shoot with.

It's easier to justify a non competing rifle. A .30-30 for example. Possibly a .338 Mag or a .375 H&H.....the bad part about owning a .30-06 is that it takes a lot of choices away as it easily competes favorably with almost everything from the .270 cal to the 8MM cals.

If you had first bought a .257 Roberts then a .280 is a good second rifle.....see?...Darn those .30-06s!!!!!

WELL HELL YES you want a new rifle. What kind of question is that.:DIf you have a paulse you need another rifle. I don't know what all you hunt but it seems like a good 223 or 22-250 would be a good addition. Or maybe something new and old like a 45-70. Your 06 will handle everything through the middle. you just read too many post like me.like guys telling you the 06 or .308 is too big for deer.nothing wrong with a new gun ,just get what you like,not what others may push you into.your .30-06 is a great cal.I have a ruger 1 .30-06 .Maybe a .243 next for you ?

Go with something like a .260 or a 7mm-08 cause they're a lot nicer to shoot than the 30-06 and if you're just hunting deer you can't beat it. I would maybe go with the .243 cause it'll be a good deer rifle and a varmit rifle. Then again, if you're looking for somthing bigger then go with the 300 WSM cause I hear that's a sweet shootin rifle. Just buy somthing cause there's ton of things to choose from and you'll probably like anything you buy haha, Just buy somthing new!!!!;)

In my opinion you can never have enough guns haha but if I had the money and I was old enough I would go to the hunting store and buy atleast5 guns lol I may only be 13 but guns fascinate me and I just love them a tonand just thinking about buying a new 17hmr makes me wanna have it right now:D

My Sako 75 in 300 Win Mag is a great all-around rifle and I've taken it hunting many times. It can be a bit cumbersome in the brush and it's a bit on the heavy side and I could use something with a little less kick at the range and on and on. ;) I always have reasons/excuses for thinking about other rifles. :)

Simple....

The power of suggestion. This is why companies spend so much in advertizement. If you read this site enough you will desire to buy a new gun. I was out looking last week. However; I do hve a 6th sense that keeps me straight. I changed my mind and came on home with 500 dollars still in my pocket. Our Words are just as powerful. We can encourage people with them or royally mess up anthers day. Words are very powerful.

Why not look into something like a 223, or a 243, a varmit cartridge of some sort. Or if it strikes your fancy, maybe a big bore lever gun like a 444, a 450 marlin, or a 45-70. Or a single shot rifle, or a AR-15 poodle shooter, or a.... I guess I could go on and on. My wife asked me how many more rifles I thought I needed, and I told her2 and a new Encorebarrel, but by the time the conversation was over, I realized i forgot about al least 2 other rifles... LOL
