Default Henry .22 rifles

Need some advice on Henry .22 lever actions. Are they a good reliable and accurate rifle. I want a lever action. Is there any other good lever actions out there. Thanks. Brian

I had one of the 189 dollar walmart ones for a few years. Wish I never would have sold it. I know the guy that owns it and he loves it and has had no problems.

They are not the best as far as fit and finnish goes compared to a Marlin lever gun, but they are about half the price. The have some plastic on them and the reciever is painted diecast or something vrs blued steel. However the action is one of the smoothest I have ever felt! The triggers are so-so.

Mine was one of the most accurate .22's I have ever owned. 1 inch groups or better at 100 yards off a bench with a 10 power scope and winchester hollow points. Didn't have any trouble feeding any ammo I put in it from hyper velocity to shorts. Even mixed. I had a few missfires, but I blame that on cheap remington ammo. I've never had good luck with bulk ammo from remington.

I'd buy another one if I had the money.

i have the henry lever action youth .22. i got it when i was 11 and i've had no problems. The action on it is 10X smoother than my winchester 94 30-30. The only 22 other than my henry i've shot was a semi-auto marlin that was $100 at walmart and that wasn't close to as accurate as my henry.

the only think i would change to my 22 would be to get the large loop.

For the money, they are a nice accurate easy to handle rifle. A lever action .22 is nice for squirrel hunting. Also a lot of fun to target shoot with. I have been looking for the Golden Boy that came out. Not at the big stores yet, but I am sure some of the custom gun shops have it...

i bought one probably the first year they came out. it was a fun gun to shoot and pretty accurate but after a while it didnt load correctly. it would crush a round in the action. i had it repaired and then sold it. they have great customer service. if i had to do it again i would get a marlin.

Great, sounds like they are a very nice rifle. How do they compare to the Marlin or the Browning. Would they be a better choice.

cayugad-
I see you can order the Golden Boy from Walmart. Not a bad price either.

I love my BLR .22. It is the best looking gun that I have ever seen It has tiger stripped wood. My dad got it for me when I was 6. However the Henry is a sweet little rifle, and probaly shoots a little more comfortable.
