New kimber M84 7mm-08

Well, I bought a Kimber model 84 in 7mm-08. I had heard good things about this round for deer. Hope it doesnt kick too hard in this lightweight rifle. But, I'm used to the kick of a 7mm WM and damn tired of it! I want something fun to handload and shoot more. Anyone have a hot recipe to share???? How far out can I expect to reach and and touch deer in open country. For factory loads should I go with the 140 gr corlockts or 120 gr? I need a fairly flat shooter in the open country.

I shoot 140gr in Ruger M776.5mmSwede and will not
switch.

RE: New kimber M84 7mm-08

I just started shooting my 7mm-08 and find the recoil fairly mild. I did have a 7mm Rem. Mag. and have hunted for years with this caliber but switched to something in a lighter recoil and the 7mm-08 is the ticket. As for recipes, I’d loved to share some but I’m in the process of finding a good one for my rifle. So far the Sierra 160 gr.SBT is the best using IMR-4320 powder and gives me the best group but I’m looking for a lighter bullet. I’ve never hunted with this caliber but have read that you could shoot out to 300 yards without any problems. Good luck with your Kimber rifle. I hope you enjoy your 7mm-08 as much as I do ;)
