Hornady (30-30) 170-grn Flat Tip vs. 168-grn BST

How does the Hornady (30-30) 170-grain flat tipcompare to the168-grain BST?

Are the bullets similar as far as expansion goes?

At 30-30 velocities i'd take the flat tip every time. At the ranges a 30-30 should be used at, a BT won't help enough with bullet drop to even count.

Sling you can chamber a PSP round for your first shot and the rest FN in
the magazine. I shot this one under 100yds with Fed. 150gr NP with a
Win. .30-30 "Carbine"

Thanks for the responses so far. I also would not mind hearing about any experiences with any of the other 170-grain (30-30) flat nose bullets from Remington (actually a round nose), Sierra, or Speer.

Do they all give pretty much the same performance?

I'd take the 170 grain Nosler partitionsover anything else offered by anyone!!! NO contest!!

In general over the years, i've always had better luck with speer bulletsas "big game bullets" over Sierra... For me this hasn't even been close, Speer has worked better than Sierra and Hornandy for me....

For smaller animials i'm not so picky..
