When hunting in sandy conditions what kind of lube do you guys use to limit the amount that gets and stays in the actions?

White Graphite!Remove all petrolium grease and apply white graphite to all
moving parts when you are going to hunt in sandy conditions. Then, when not
hunting in sandy conditions, remove white graphite and apply White Lithium

Ditto what Vapodog said. No lube or at least an extremely small amount in a very few select places depending on what gun it is.

More people mess up perfectly good guns by "lubing" them up real good. Oil and grease attract dust, sand, dirt, lint, powder residue, unburnt powder, etc... and then people wonder why their guns don't work. Well duh............. they are filled with sludge.

Big, white graphite is dry slide, not grease.

And you would'nt put Dry Side on hot metal to metal?

I've been in a alot of sand with the m16; not my favorite combo. I would get it cleaned up, wipe off the excess, keep the dust cover up and a prophylactic over the muzzle. Shoot, rinse and repeat. No problem except for the sand in my ears, nose, food, you know.

No, I do not like the dry film lubricants. Some actually hinder the operation of the firearms by filling in where there is suppose to be space.

Certain moving parts require a small ammount of lubrication. Other than that and to prevent rust in storage firearms need no other oils or dry lubes.

I would certainly never use any grease, regardless of what it was composed of. The exception being break open firearms to lubricate where the receiver and barrels make contact and rub on each other.

I use LPS "Drylube". It appears to go on wet and then quickly sets up as a almost translucent white film that allows you to visually see how even and completely your coverage is.

I use it on my carry guns and have no problems with lint, dust or anything like that sticking to my stuff.
