Unertl scope question...
 

I have an old Unertl Hawk 4X scope. It has extra fine crosshairs and a target dot. It got banged up a couple years ago...and I found a place that repairs them. I love the scope, but my question is...Is it worth it???

Pro-line YES, it is worth it. I have several Unertl's myself and they are a peice of old world German craftsmanship. If you found a place that repair's them please let me know who and where it is. Never know when I may need their services also. The original JP Unertl Optics Co. is no longer in business. It has been bought out by some Company out of Texas (I think), and should be back up and producing scopes either this month or next month. Remains to be seen if the quality is up to the standards of the original Unertl scopes.

1SHOT...I love Unertl's. That's why I have decided to get it repaired. They're precise and clear.

I sent an e-mail to Unertl Optics...and got a reply the same day from Dave Gregor. He said to call (724) 625-3810 and ask for Chuck. This place takes care of all their repairs. Hope this helps!!!

That old fellow deserves to be repaired.

I have a Unertl 8x with a fine crosshais and what I call "microdots" on the crosshairs. There are 3 on each of the upper, lower, left and right hairs. I have been told this is very rare and was probably a custom job for a German army sniper. I picked it up at a flea market near Pittsburgh about 25 years ago. I had it on my .222 Rem for a long time - they looked and shot like they were made to be together. I have since retired those two, but sent alot of critters to the happy hunting grounds before doing so.

I'm gonna get a 22 mag here pretty quick, and this scope's gonna be a perfect topper for it.
