336 in other calibers

New to hunting and I only own 2 guns. One is a Marlin 336 in 30-30. Ithink it is also available in 45-70, 35, and some others. I think it's a great gun
Why is it that this gun is not available in many popular calibers like the 30-06, 270, 300 win,243 etc. etc?

that gun is designed primarily to handle rimmed cartridges and also it's pressure limitation preclude the 50,000+ PSI cartridges as you mentioned.

Other levers are much stronger such as the Winchester 88, the savage 99 and the Browning BLR. The latter is the only one still being built which suggests that there's not a large market for those cartridges in a lever.

Not to mention: pointed bullets in a tube magazine are a very bad thing...

good point on the points. Guess I was just wishing that I could get the same gun in a few different more popular calibers.

Every time you read about leverguns just makes ya reallize more how far ahead of its time the 99 was.
