There was never a saftey problem with the Rem 5mm mag why it was dropped was never explained.
A few years ago the Old Western Scrounger was taking orders to tool up and make a million (or more) of these cartridges. One didn't need to send money, just committ to buying a case or more of ammo. I personally know one guy in Wisconsin that committed to 5,000 rounds and who knows how many others did the same.....but it never happened. CCI is totally capable of making them but don't. Remington already has the tooling so for them to make them is a piece of cake.....but they won't.

Folks are buying existing stocks for well over $1 each and others are converting their guns to a centerfire option.

The question of "WHY" begs to be answered.....and remains a mystery.

If you had it in your power to bring back one of the old (or not so old) calibers which is now out of favor with the buying public, which would you choose and which gun would you couple it with?
The one I'd like to see is the old 35 Winchester. Or, of course, the 356 Winchester. Either one in a Marlin 336, topped off with a Leupold 1-4x scope, would make my day.

Bro,
You and me are on the same page,I read the post question and I was thinking, what one do I love more the Browning lever in .348 or the Savage 99.
I would like to see both back again,at least the .348 in a short bolt rifle or the Savage 99 in a 300 WSM or .325 WSM

I'd go for the .348 Win also. I think we have enough .30 cal and smaller varmint calibers.

I had a 303 Savage in the 99. When I got it someone had refinished it and it looked great. Of course there went any collector value. It was the take down model.
