There was never a saftey problem with the Rem 5mm mag why it was dropped was never explained.
Folks are buying existing stocks for well over $1 each and others are converting their guns to a centerfire option.
The question of "WHY" begs to be answered.....and remains a mystery.

You and me are on the same page,I read the post question and I was thinking,what one do I love more the Browning lever in .348 or the Savage 99.
I would like to see both back again,at least the .348 in a short bolt rifle or the Savage 99 in a 300 WSM or .325 WSM

I had a 303 Savage in the 99. When I got it someone had refinished it and it looked great. Of course there went any collector value. It was the take down model.
