Measuring Group Size???
OK, heres an easy question for you guys to answer. When you are measuring a group, how do you do it? Do you go from the outsides of the two farthest apart holes, the middles of those holes, or some other way? See, I told you it was easy.

RE: Measuring Group Size???
Imeasure as close to center to center as I can. It is more accurate than outside to outside. A 1" group center to center with a .22 is the same as with a .50, but a 1" group outside to outside with a .22 vs a .50 is different.

RE: Measuring Group Size???
The accepted methhod it to measure to the extreme outside edge of the 2 furthest apart bullet holes, then subtract 1 bullet diameter from the overall measurement. This will give you the exact Center-to-Center measurement |
RE: Measuring Group Size???
Its hard to put a ruler in the center of a hole,if you measure from outside to inside of each edge is the same as center to center of a hole. And thats how its done. vangunsmith

RE: Measuring Group Size???
typically folks measure as close as possibly the center to center of the two fartherest holes.
However if the results are to be posted on the internet the measurement is taken inside to inside then subtract one bullet diameter and then only measure two of the three shots because the third one was a flyer. |
