RE: 7mm mag or 300 mag
1 shotkill, I have had absolutely no troubles taking moose with my 7mm rem mags. Most were shot with 160 gr versions but also have taken them 140. Bullet construction isa key when detrmining what to use for certain hunts. A moose is a large animal no doubt but they aren't overly hard to knock down. Ipersonally consider elk much tougher and difficult to get wobbling of the two largest NA deer. Shot placement, knowing your ability, etc are crucial no matter what the game orcartridge your using. Between these two I really haven't seen a lot of difference in stopping power, both have a goodselection of bullets or OTC ammo andballistically they are very close..so take your pick!
I have never hunted grizzly but have seen them(other than a ZOO)... I stand by neither selections would be what I call go get em' offering for the larger bear group. I love dinner, just not being the main course..[8D]

Seeing as how you live IN "Gods Country" I too would recommend a .338, you're gonna use and need it more than a once or twice a lifetimer like most of us. Should be easy to find ammo in your neck of the woods for a 338 as well. As for the 7Rem vs 300Win, take your pick. Whatever a 140 7 does a 150 Win will do. Whatever a 150 7 does a 165 Win will do. Whatever a 160 7 does a 180 Win will do. Whatever a 175 7 will do a 200 Win will do. Hmmmmmmm beginnin to see a pattern? If it were me, I would stick a 160 TSX in the 7 or a 180 TSX in the 300 and go for ALL of it!
BUT then again if I lived where you live and only wanted one rifle I would do the 338 if I didn't reload and I might toy with the 325 WSM if I were a reloader!!!

300 Mag or 30-06 would be my choice. Way more choice of bullets and more versitile.

The post was 7mm Mag or .300 Mag.If you're going to suggest choosing between a .30-06 or a .300 Mag., then who the heck wouldn't choose the .300 mag?

I agree with Skeeter7mm. I own both rifles ( 7mm and 300) , although both are excellent calibers, I would opt for the 338 if I were in BIG bear country. You can never have TOO much gun, when your life may be at stake!
