I had a savage and it would only shoot a 1.56" group at 100 yards. I looked down the barrel and noticed a defect in the rifling. I called savage and they told me to send the gun to them and they would look at it. They sent it back with a 1.56" 5 shot group and told me that that was exceptable accuracy[:'(]I called them back and asked them about the bad tooling and they said they seen nothing wrong[:@]THAT WAS IT FOR ME WITH savage GUNS!!!!!! I'll spend the extra money and buy a Rem,Browning....

Thats a really sad story, because the fact that they weren't willing to replace the gun was/is unacceptable. In my opiniion the cost dictates it to be less than 1.5 inch groups.
