Swift Sirocco Bullets
 

I'm confused. Are these bullets made for deep penetration, or for maximum expansion. I thought they were made like ballistic tips (meaning the expand a lot), but now im not sure anymore because they have a thick copper jacket? So what do these bullets do? And would they work for deer, black bear, and elk? I would be shooting them out of a .308 in prolly 165 grain.

They will both perform about the same. The Swift is considered a bit tougher bullet. In the heavier weights I would say either is fine for Deer and Black bear as well as elk. The Partition may be a little better choice for Elk. I would not be afraid to use the 180 grain in any of these bullets.

I have never been able to obtain good accuracy with sciroccos in my rifles.As well they do leave a great deal of copper fouling compared to other bullets.

I like these bullets, but they are made a little different than some of the other bonded pills. The Scirocco uses a thick jacket of pure copper. It seems to keep mushrooming to a bigger and bigger diameter as it expands;and expands more slowly than a Partition or Accubond does initially - but makes a bigger wound channel in the middle of the animal. They will put an elk on the ground, with a rib shot, faster than any bullet I have ever used. However, they do not break big bones or penetrate quite as well as other premium bullets like the TSX orPartition.

The 165 grain is ideal, IMO, for the .308 and 30/06 calibers. I use the 180's for .300 Magnums.
