RE: Remington, is there anything they don't make!
I agree the 700 series tends to get a bad rap. I have both rifles and a ML in the 700 series, they have been excellent service weapons. Maybe not the quality of Sako, but affordable, dependable and plenty for what I need.
Knight some say are the best for ML, I had 2 buddies go from the 700MLS to Knight, both have had guns returned due to problems...yet my 4th year with the 700MLS and she is still pumping them out and no problems. All guns are going to have lemons, etc...it just seems people like to harp about Remmington...still the name that is recognized as #1. Not saying they are #1, alot of great companies out there but I would bet my last dollar their are more Remmingtons in the cabinets than any other weapon manufacturer! |

Remington shavers is a completely different company that is owned by Mr. Victor Kiam who formerly owned the new england patriots football team.

Here are a couple I can think of off the top of my head. Buck knives making compound bows, and Swarovski making pretty little crystal swans and unicorns as well as rifle and spotting scopes. Of course Swarovski IS HIGH QUALITY.

I will admit the 710 and 597 are junk. But most other guns they make are great, me and my brother both have 870's which are great. I am very happy with them. My brother also has a 700 adl which is also a great gun. And we have an old Model 550 22cal. This gun is about 40 years old and as good as ever.
Guns cause crime, like flies cause garbage. |

Its a used to be great company, minute they started catering to Kmart and Walmart it went right down the you know what. Their guns aren't a bargain and you have to spend xx amount of money to get them right for the most part . I mean you cannot get one out of the box even their custom shop deals and expect them to be a good hunting rifle...triggers ,bedding and feed problems seem to be very prevalent. When I buy one I make it a project gun and after spending time going over the bedding, trigger and what else it finally shoots pretty good. Although i bet a A-bolt...Savage out of the box will outshoot it. If you send your remington to a custom builder they are basically machining the action to make it what it should have been from the beginning so why bother..notice more of the better custom builders are using an inhouse action and not a Remington action.

Remington rocks. I haven't had any problems with either of mine. In my opinion there still a good company. I've heard of people that love the 710. It's a good company and they still put out good products. My 700 cost me almost $500.00. Now I, for one don't consider this a little bit of money. So if that makes my rifle low quality, then oh well. The deer aren't complaining.
