Help me pick a good used US made SXS SHotgun
 

Hi all. I am thinking about getting a used (or new) Side by side in 12 Gge. for rabbits and dove. I was interested in the new Savage 411 until I heard they were made in Russia. I would like a decent US made gun or possibly Spanish. I don't even know how much to spend but I know I can't afford a new Ruger. $250.00 To $650.00 would be about right. If anyone knows of some decent guns that seem to be reasonable at gunshows, let me know.Keep in mind it will be a field gun, not a show peice.Or let me know what your favourite US SXS is.

US made SXS for under $600??? Not new, that's for sure. CZ makes a nice one but it is made in Turkey. Remington's and Savage's are made in Russia.

If you shop around you might be able to find a Stevens 311in that price range used. I saw one awhile back for about $400 at a local gun store.

I would seriously look for a Fox model B. They are great side by sides, and you can find them under $600. I used one for several years and loved it.

This one is currently selling for $475 on Gunsamerica.

Yes. I did mean Used!! SOrry! I saw a lefever today at a gun show. Don't know what model or age. Blue was mostly gone. 12 Gge, 26" barrels. The guy who was selling it knew less than I do about doubles. He wanted 300 bucks but I know very little about lefever

I'd tell you to look for a used, in good condition, Savage 311 in 20 or 12. They made them with a modified front trigger barrel and a full choke rear trigger barrel. Utilitarian and Spartan but decent guns....I bet you could find one in decent shape for under $150.00 if you shop around a bit.
