I used to use em on deer when I was dirt poor. They always worked. I switched to 130gr cause I wanted a flatter trajectory. I didn't see a lick of difference between the killing of a 130 and a 150. All my hunting was in Ky and WV and it was all 60 yard shots or so.

No sense in useing a 150 grain in a 270 for deer only. The 150 grainers are generally reserved for and considered to be elk bullets.
A 130 grain bullet out of a .270 will kill any deer on this planet. Keep the speed and trajectory. Why sacrafice it if you don't need to?

Those 150 grain Remington Core Lokt round nose bullets are pretty good pills for heavy cover where shots tend to be short to medium range. They also tend to penetrate better on angling shots than some of the lighter bullets. For midwest deer and black bear hunting, they are great all around bullets - and not real pricey either.

I used to have a 270 and I shot them only as practice rounds. I had a few that would completly seperate the lead from the jacket when shooting at a cardboard boxtarget. I am sure that they would do fine, but I like federal with nosler ballistic tips a little better. EJ

I never have liked Corelokts in a 270 Win. They don't hold together very well in my experience. I wouldn't use 150 grain bullets for deer either. No real need to do so.
