I got it again!
Been sitting around thinking.( That is a dangerous thing..LOL) I have developed once again "THE NEED FOR SPEED.First ,I want something in the .22 class I already got a swift so I am feeling like some kind of wildcat maybe.Second,Which cartridge do you think is the fastest most accurate. Now for the Gurus is the Rem.40X worth the money, or can you get something like a Sako ( Better? ) for the same or a little more.Custom? Got a friend that works for Remington that might can help beat the cost of the 40X .How about the 22-250 AI ? Can the Rem custom shop give you one in that?C'mon guy's let me have it.I want it fast and dead ass on at whatever distance.I have went and got in a peeing contest with a buddy ,And you know what happens then.Everybody involved spends entirely to much money.......Thanks SWAMP

The gears in my head have been turning aswell, thinking about getting my 22-250 turned into a ackley improved. that 22-250 ackley improved is a screamer accurate too atleast my buddies is.

Speed wise yiou are not going to improve much over the 220 Swift. The 22-250 AI is a great cartridge that will approach 220 Swift velocity with good case life and great accuracy. As far as an accurate rifle, you won't know for sure until you take it to the range unless you build a custom rifle and they have a accuracy guarantee.

RE: I got it again!
cma pretty much nailed it. Bullets like the V-Max will not liked to be pushed that hard. So I have been told, I have never tried with my swift to do it. I have also heard that bullets like the Ballistic tip and Blitzking do hold together when being pushed that fast. As of late I have been shooting Wildcat Bullets out of Alberta, Canada. They are outstanding and perform better at max speeds.
cma also brought up another good point about case capacity. I was seriously thinking about the 22-6mm AI to shoot the heavier bullets with much higher bc. Giving me the ability to go long range if I wanted to. But it I was to stay at the 55's I would have just a screaming bullet, but still have trouble farther downrange.
