Is a Mauser 08 in 7X57 a good rifle, is it as good or better than a Mauser 98?

Better.....Paul Mauser invented the 7x57 in the 1890's. It is the classic cartridge and the mother of all center fire modern calibers. They have killed more Elephants than any other cartridge and still keep on ticking today. They shoot a 140 gr nosler at 2900 fps with very little recoil. A great classic caliber that will take all North American game. I have recorded over 40 WTD with mine....all one shot drop dead. Here she is....Steyr Mod M circa 1968
