Chopper, was the rings part of a promo from the store or do all Sako have that deal. I’m just asking because I just ordered one and they never mentioned anything about the Optilock being included ?

The rings were in the box with the rifle so i assume they came from Sako.

I'm thinking they're throwing in a little bonus to help people get beyond the barrel problems they had last year.

When I ordered my rifle I had insisted to get the 2005 with the green inlaid rubber. Having the ring included is definitely a plus. Chopper, thanks for the good news.

OEH, I had thought of that but figured that maybe I could trade them in for the lowest rings.

I'll bet Beretta Customer Service will let you do that. I don't understand the medium rings. On my 7STW 75 I purchased low rings for it and they were a bit high for any 40mm scope..you could have easily put a 44mm or 50mm scope on it.

I found that out with my first Sako. With the lowest rings I was able to put my 50mm scope on it without any problems. On Sako web sit. it shows that you can put from 51 to 59mm scope on the lowest rings.
