Smith and WEsson pump shotguns

Anyone know who made these guns..RIfles were made by Howa but wonder who made the shotgun. I used to own a semi-auto they made about 25 years ago and it was the most troublefree auto I have owned. Just wondering.

OEH, Gezz I use to know who made them.I faintly remember the name Eastfield.I won't swear to it but I think that's who made the pumps for S&W. That's going back 20-25 years ago.

Thanks RR ..This is one well made pump action smooth and well finished as anything I have seen. The fact that it was made by Howa is good news. It has no IC's but I can get the barrel bored for that no big deal.

I knew Howa made some but I also though High Standard made some. ( of course I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time :D )

When I worked at a gunshop back in the mid 70's, we handled the S&W pumps. For some reason Eastfield rings a bell.No telling S&W may of had different models made by different companies.I never fired one.I always liked the Rem 870 or Ithaca M37.

oldelkhunter; the older models I saw, one owned by my Grandfather and the other by my cousin were nice looking pump shotguns. The only problem I found with them is that both of them kicked like a mule. I don't know if it was the stock design or what. I remember at the time that my cousin's using 3" magnum lead for waterfowl (when it was legal) felt recoil was more than the Ithaca Mag 10 I was using with 3 1/2" lead loads.

Well if you were comparing apples vs Apples in the weight department the S&W would kick less. The ithaca mag 10 was no lightweight shotgun.
