Bass Fishing

RE: Bass Fishing
Lakes and ponds will mostly have Largemouth Bass ,
they love to chase all kinds of moving baits .
My faves are the Berkeley Powerbait series , particularly the 7" curly tail worm . In stained water I'll stick with black or other high contrast colors Texas rigged with a weight just heavy enough to make it sink slowly . In clearer water a chartruese sparkle curlytail grub rigged on a beetle spin will make most bass crazy . Topwater lures are great once the temps climb , I like a small 3 or 4 blade buzzbait cranked just fast enough to keep it from sinking with a slightly erratic retrieve . I've never personally done well with topwater plugs or poppers , although some folks swear by them .
When in doubt it's hard to go wrong with a lip hooked shiner or minnow . I use a knife to remove most of their tail fin so that they have to really beat the water to maintain trim . The vibrations from that are like a dinner bell to bass . Bottom fished crawdads are a good bet at anytime , studies of bass stomach contents have shown that they eat them every chance they get .

RE: Bass Fishing
We most seriosly need to pin this subject to the top and have everyone give their take on it. I mean, we get this at least once every two weeks.
I'd just plastic worms, red shad color or junebug, 7". 3/16 oz bullet weights. just a basic spinning rod or a casting rod and you can fish just about everything from shore.

RE: Bass Fishing
Two words: Power Worm!
Texas rigged Berkley 7" curly-tail worm, preferably blue fleck.
When to fish is easy.........whenever possible.
Cover: Near weeds, stumps, rocks, or where the depth changes dramatically.
Tackle: Personal preference is an Abu Garcia Ambassaduer, Bass Pro Extreme XPS 6'6" medium duty rod, and 15 lbs. test Berkely Trilene in low-visability green.
