early spring

hey guys, i can't wait until april so i can go bass fishing. my question is what lure should i use for largemouth bass? since the water will be very cold i thought about using a strike-king jig or a lunker city slug-go/fin-s-fish, but me freind says he love to use tubes in early spring so now i'm all confused on what to use. do you guys have any seggustions

RE: early spring

how cold, if its really cold and the fish are sluggish i'd stick with a jig, or the tube, here when the water temp gets in the 50's (surface temp), the fish will start to move up and feed and become more active, then i'd use spinner-baits/crankbaits, or if there still a litlle sluggish a weighted/suspending jerk-bait will sometimes get a reaction, check with a local tackle shop they'll help you because they want you catching fish, for me its all about water temp and what the fish want.

best of luck

i've had my best luck on slug-go's and fluke type lures in post spawn conditions, but thats when i fish them the most,, kinda like the guys that say "all i ever catch'em on is plastic worms" thats useally all they throw
